...the first day on the bike! That's terrible. Don't let it rattle you. I dropped my bike in less than a year than I owned it. I dumped it at about 15 mph, locked the front wheel. Down I went. Luckily, I had a new (used) tank in a box in my garage that I bought on eBay for $50.

You see, the bike I bought was pre-owned and the first owner did exactly what you did (I suspect)! I got 100 bucks off for that dent! Look for a replacement tank on eBay. I found one that was an exact color match and in near perfect cond.

One more thing. In 1990, I was 20, and a mason I worked with gave me his 1975 Yamaha 750 road bike. I remember standing in the road next to a basement we were building in a housing development. All I can remember is I was sitting on it ready to start it and I lost my balance! You know, dirty road, whatever. Damn thing went over with me sitting on it! Don't know how it happened. Biek wasn't even running. It must have weighed 500 pounds. Anyways, I remember feeling like a jerk. The guy who gave me the bike (along with my entire crew) saw the whole thing. He must have been thinking, "yep, kids gonna get killed on that thing."

ahhhh, memories of my first bike...
